Straight 6, manual, 4wd. And 2-door, relatively rare.
Not yet obscenely priced, at least for BaT.

19 year old jeepoftheseus really should’ve held on the the ole rig. It only took me a decade to start jonesing for a pre-facelift XJ again. Just give me one with a straight body and decent paint and I can fix the rest.

I admit, in a moment of weakness I wondered whether I could trade my dysfunctional LJ for the M715 in Maryland that I was crazy about, but I remembered the classic rule: never get rid of your first Jeep.

I believe this was first told to me in regard to older boats but essentially when it comes to projects: love the one you’re with. My TJ has cost me double what I paid for it but at least I have “benchmarked” nearly every aspect of it. The sad part about that XJ is that the fella I sold it to totaled it less than six months later. As in, it rear ended a car, was then rear ended and then caught fire. It was my second XJ, first one was bought cheap and sold high to allow for the 2 door, but my Dad’s CJ was all of us kids’ “first Jeep” and that thing ain’t going nowhere!
And don’t you dare let that LJ Rubi go!
Edit: TJ has cost me the purchase price in repairs, not double the purchase price... shivers.

You , uh... you want one? I know a guy... Manual, 4.0L, 2 door, CA truck.

“Pimp my ride”
I always want one, but if I’m going all the way to California I’m picking up an M715, and realistically I can’t afford even a cheap XJ right now. Or at least, I shouldn’t afford one.

It’s been stuck at 71 00 for over 24 hours now. I keep waiting for the jump.
